Limassol: Suspect in attempted murder at construction site still at large

Police are investigating an attempted murder in Limassol after a 44-year-old man was seriously injured during an alleged attack at a construction site on Thursday morning.

Police received information at around 8.15am that an injured man was at a building under construction in Limassol. Officers went to the scene and began investigating.

Man seriously injured in alleged attack

According to the information under investigation, the 44-year-old and another man, aged 47, allegedly became involved in an argument.

The 47-year-old is suspected of pulling out a construction utility knife and seriously injuring the younger man in the abdomen before fleeing the scene.

An ambulance was called and took the injured man to a private clinic in Limassol, where he underwent surgery.

He remains hospitalised in a stable condition and is out of danger.

Police searching for suspect

The suspect reportedly fled after the incident, and police are carrying out inquiries to locate him.

Limassol CID is continuing the investigation.
