President Nikos Christodoulides will brief the leadership of three political parties that are no longer represented in the National Council on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.
The meeting is scheduled for 12.30pm at the Presidential Palace.
Parties to receive briefing
According to the President’s programme, Christodoulides will meet DIPA President Marios Karoyian, EDEK President Sofia Christodoulou Makri, and the two vice-presidents of the Ecologists – Citizens’ Cooperation Movement, Katerina Chatzistylli and Loukas Stylianou.
The President will update them on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue.
The three parties are not currently represented in Parliament and therefore no longer participate in the National Council.
National Council briefing
Christodoulides previously briefed members of the National Council on September 30 on developments in the Cyprus problem.
That briefing followed his contacts in New York, where the President held a series of meetings on the Cyprus issue on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The latest briefing comes as efforts continue over the next steps in the Cyprus peace process and contacts between the two sides.
