A 63-year-old British man died after becoming unwell while diving in the Pernera area of Ayia Napa on Saturday.
According to Police, the man was diving at around 3:15pm when he began feeling unwell and was taken onto a floating platform.
First aid provided at scene
The diving instructor accompanying the man and lifeguards provided first aid while an ambulance was called to the scene.
The 63-year-old was then taken to Famagusta General Hospital.
Police investigation
Despite doctors’ efforts, the man died at the hospital.
The Ayia Napa Police Station is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
