A traffic accident involving an overturned rubbish truck occurred on Tuesday morning on the Timi–Geroskipou road, near Acheleia in Paphos district.
The incident happened at the junction with the road leading north towards Agia Varvara and the motorway.
According to Sigma correspondent Marios Ignatiou, the vehicle appeared to be travelling towards the Acheleia–Timi road when, under circumstances being investigated, it failed to stop at a stop sign.
The truck subsequently left the road, ended up in an adjacent field and overturned.
A possible technical fault is among the factors being examined, although this has not been confirmed so far.
Police officers and members of the Fire Service are at the scene, along with an ambulance.
