The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is visiting the port for crew rest and replenishment. It is the ship’s first visit to Cyprus.
The USS Jason Dunham is named after US Marine Corps Corporal Jason L. Dunham, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
The US Embassy thanked Cyprus for its hospitality and cooperation, accompanying its announcement with the flags of the United States and the Republic of Cyprus and the message “Stronger together”.
The destroyer will remain in Limassol for two days, with the US side stating that the visit is intended for crew rest and replenishment.
