The Cabinet has approved the budget adopted by the National Solidarity Fund, Finance Minister Makis Keravnos announced on Wednesday.
Keravnos said the Fund’s draft 2026 budget provides for expenditure of €28,725,209, which will be allocated to individuals who have been approved as beneficiaries.
“The platform will open during the coming period, towards the end of September,” he said.
Approved beneficiaries who have not yet submitted their details will be able to do so through the platform in order to receive the amounts provided for in the Fund’s budget.
The minister added that the process will also cover people who have already received payments under the scheme approved in 2025 and continuing through 2026.
Depositors express disappointment
The announcement comes after affected depositors expressed strong dissatisfaction with the payment amount approved by the National Solidarity Fund.
According to reports, the planned disbursement is limited to 2.5%, compared with the 10% rate that depositors had expected.
The Association of Depositors of Laiki Bank (SYKALA) also accused the government on Tuesday of failing to honour commitments made to affected depositors and holders of securities.
