The National Guard is marking Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Cyprus today with a series of events in Nicosia.
The day is dedicated to the personnel currently serving in the National Guard, as well as all those who have served over the years, remaining committed to their duty and mission to defend the freedom and security of the Republic.
Morning ceremony at Apostle Barnabas Church
The programme began at 9:30 am with a service of thanksgiving and the official Armed Forces Day ceremony at the Church of Apostle Barnabas.
Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas will attend the event.
Official ceremony at THOC
At 7 pm, the National Guard’s official anniversary event will take place at the Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC), in the presence of the political and military leadership.
