The weather forecast for Friday points to mainly clear conditions initially, before clouds gradually develop and bring local rain and possibly isolated thunderstorms after midday, mainly in mountainous areas and parts of the interior, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Hail may also occur during thunderstorms.
Temperatures reach 37°C inland
Winds will initially be light southerly to south-westerly at 3 Beaufort, later becoming mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 37°C inland, 31°C on the west coast, around 33°C on the remaining coastal areas and around 26°C in the highest mountains.
Clear skies overnight
Tonight, the weather will become mainly clear, although locally increased low cloud will be observed at times along the coast.
Later, during the early morning hours, locally thin fog or fog is expected to form.
Winds will be mainly south-westerly to north-westerly and light, at 2 to 3 Beaufort, while the sea will remain calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to around 22°C inland, around 23°C on the coast and around 17°C in the highest mountains.
Rain possible on Saturday
On Saturday, locally increased cloud after midday is expected to produce isolated rain or a thunderstorm, mainly in mountainous and inland areas.
On Sunday and Monday, the weather will be mainly clear.
Temperatures on Saturday will remain at approximately the same levels as Friday, slightly above the average climatic values. A further rise is expected on Sunday and Monday.
The weather outlook therefore points to a brief period of localised rain and possible thunderstorms before mainly clear conditions return over the weekend.
