A fire that tore through an apartment building in the eastern town of Thusis, Switzerland, on Friday has left five people missing and eight injured, police said.
The blaze was reported shortly after midnight and completely destroyed a building that housed a restaurant and residential flats, police in the canton of Graubünden said.
The stairwell collapsed during the fire, forcing firefighters to open the roof using a crane to tackle the blaze.
Eight people injured
Two of the eight injured people are in serious condition, police said.
Six other people managed to escape the building without suffering injuries.
Around 100 firefighters were sent to the scene, with crews still working to extinguish the fire on Friday morning.
