Government Treasury launches three digital services for bank account changes

Date:

Three new digital services have been introduced by the Treasury of the Republic to allow public sector employees and pensioners to change the bank account used for salary or pension payments through gov.cy.

The services became available on Thursday, 6 August 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to digitise procedures and improve services provided to citizens.

Available through gov.cy

The new digital services allow serving and retired state officials, employees and hourly-paid government staff to update the IBAN account where their salary or pension will be deposited.

The services are available through the government portal gov.cy under the section for salaries and pensions of state officials, employees and hourly-paid government personnel.

The Treasury said the new digital services provide a simple, direct and secure way for citizens to complete the process electronically, while supporting the wider transition towards a digital and green economy.

Requirements for applications

To submit a request for a change of bank account number, users must have a verified CY Login account.

They must also attach a copy of part of their bank account statement or a relevant bank confirmation document. The document must not display any transactions and should only include the bank name, branch, account holder details and the international bank account number (IBAN).

The services were developed in cooperation with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.
