President Nikos Christodoulides will travel to Athens on Saturday morning for talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, focusing on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and coordination ahead of the upcoming visit of UN Secretary-General António Guterres to Cyprus.
According to the Director of the President’s Press Office, Victor Papadopoulos, the meeting will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the Maximos Mansion.
President Christodoulides is expected to brief the Greek Prime Minister on the latest developments regarding the Cyprus issue, while the two leaders will exchange views ahead of Guterres’ visit to Cyprus, scheduled for 27–29 July.
Following their one-on-one meeting, expanded talks between the delegations of the two governments will take place.
The Cypriot President will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, the Greek Cypriot negotiator Menelaos Menelaou, Director of the President’s Press Office Victor Papadopoulos, and senior government officials.
President Christodoulides is expected to return to Cyprus early on Saturday afternoon.
