Food Connect app is now available to reduce food waste in Cyprus

Date:

The Food Connect mobile application is now officially available for download on both Google Play and the Apple App Store in Cyprus, Malta and Portugal, offering businesses a simple and innovative way to reduce food waste while supporting local communities.

Co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE Programme, Food Connect is designed to connect food businesses with organisations that can safely redistribute surplus food, helping prevent edible food from becoming waste while generating environmental, social and economic benefits.

Designed for the HoReCa sector

If you own or manage a restaurant, café, bakery, hotel, supermarket or any other food-related business, Food Connect provides an easy-to-use platform to transform surplus food into a valuable social resource.

By using Food Connect, your business can:

  • Reduce food waste.
  • Recover value from surplus food.
  • Strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices.
  • Demonstrate commitment to sustainability and the circular economy.
  • Monitor your food waste reduction impact through dedicated statistics and insights.

The application enables food donors to quickly publish available surplus food, allowing registered recipient organisations to respond efficiently and facilitate safe food donations.

Join the Food Connect community

Every food donation makes a difference. By joining Food Connect, businesses become part of a growing European network committed to reducing food waste, supporting vulnerable communities and promoting more sustainable food systems.
