A scam warning has been issued after Bank of Cyprus alerted the public about attempted phone fraud targeting customers.
In a post, the bank urged customers to remain particularly cautious when receiving suspicious calls aimed at stealing personal and banking information.
Fraudsters impersonate bank staff
According to the bank, scammers are contacting customers while pretending to be representatives from its Customer Service Centre.
The calls reportedly appear to come from the number 22128000, which may make them seem legitimate.
The bank reminded customers not to disclose sensitive information, including personal details or banking credentials, during unexpected calls.

The Bank of Cyprus scam highlights the need for customers to verify any unusual communication and avoid sharing confidential information over the phone.
Customers who receive suspicious calls are advised to contact the bank through official channels.
