2,804,138 arrivals recorded at illegal airport in occupied Tymbou

Passenger traffic at Tymbou (Ercan) airport recorded an increase during the first half of 2026, with the total number of passengers reaching 2,804,138.

According to figures released by authorities in the occupied north, passenger numbers rose by 8.24% compared with the same period in 2025, when 2,590,576 passengers were recorded.

Flight activity also increases

Air traffic also showed growth, with 18,793 flights taking off from and landing at the airport during the first six months of the year.

This represents an 8.40% increase compared with the 17,336 flights recorded during the corresponding period last year.

May recorded highest activity

The highest passenger and flight volumes were recorded in May.

During that month, the airport handled 514,151 passengers and 3,422 flights.
