The final deadline for television rescan in Cyprus is 30 June 2026, the Department of Electronic Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy has reminded.
From that date onwards, reception of private television channels will be available exclusively through new frequencies (35 and 48) using DVB T2 technology.
Authorities stress that viewers must proceed with a rescan of their television sets or decoders in order to continue receiving broadcasts.
Steps for retuning channels
If your TV supports the new signal, you will likely need to perform a scan (retuning) to find the new channels.
Press the Home button on your remote control.
Go to Settings (Settings / All settings).
Select Channels or Inputs and Channels.
Choose Auto Tuning (Channel Scan) and make sure your antenna is set to DVB-T/T2 mode.
In cases where devices do not support the new DVB T2 standard, a compatible decoder may be required to ensure continued access to television services.
Officials underline that the adjustment is essential for uninterrupted viewing of private channels.
