New digital service for beachgoers
Visitors to Protaras will soon be able to check live conditions at the resort’s organised beaches through a new digital platform featuring cameras and weather stations.
The initiative, introduced by the municipality, aims to provide accurate, real-time information on weather conditions, beach occupancy and sea temperatures before visitors set off.
Live cameras and water temperatures
Users of the Protaras beach app will be able to view live images from each organised beach, alongside current weather conditions and water temperature data.
The service is designed to help beachgoers plan their visits more effectively, allowing them to check conditions remotely and choose the most suitable beach before travelling.
Improving the visitor experience
According to Sigma correspondent Paraskevi Paskoui, speaking on the programme Protoselido, the initiative forms part of the municipality’s wider effort to enhance services at Protaras beaches through modern digital technology.
Officials say the new system will help visitors save time, avoid unnecessary travel and make better-informed decisions when planning beach outings.
