Cyprus weather stays hot with chance of mountain showers

Date:

Warm conditions continue across the island

Cyprus weather will remain warm on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach 37°C inland as seasonal low pressure continues to affect the region.

Conditions will be mostly clear across the island, although locally increased cloud is expected to develop around midday and during the early afternoon over the mountains, bringing the possibility of isolated showers.

Temperatures reach 37°C inland

Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach around 37°C inland, 29°C on the west coast, 33°C along the remaining coastal areas, and 26°C in the higher mountains.

Winds will initially be southwesterly to northwesterly at 3 to 4 Beaufort, strengthening gradually to 4 to 5 Beaufort later in the day. The sea will be slightly rough, becoming locally rough in some areas.

Little change expected through Friday

Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 23°C inland, as well as along the south and east coasts, 21°C on the west and north coasts, and 16°C in the higher mountains.

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be mainly fine, while Friday will also be mostly clear, with a chance of isolated afternoon showers developing over the mountains.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly during the next three days and will remain slightly above the seasonal average.
