Department urges learners to plan ahead
Cyprus’ Department of Road Transport is urging learner drivers to book driving test appointments as soon as they receive their learner permits, citing growing demand and the need to reduce waiting times.
According to the department, the growing driving test demand makes early planning essential to ensure applicants are served without delays and to avoid a backlog of applications.
Book practical tests immediately after permit issuance
As part of its ongoing efforts to improve public service and manage increased demand efficiently, the DRT is encouraging applicants to book their practical driving test appointments through the department’s online services immediately after obtaining their learner driver’s permit.
The department noted that learner permits can be issued from the age of 17½, while the practical test for a full driving licence can be taken once applicants reach the age of 18.
Better planning to improve services
The DRT said that making full use of the available scheduling procedures contributes to better organisation of the examination system and helps improve overall service delivery to the public.
The department stressed that early bookings can help reduce waiting times and ensure smoother processing for future drivers.
