Concern was sparked in Nicosia on Saturday morning after sirens were heard from the premises of the U.S. Embassy.
However, according to information provided by the police, no incident occurred that would warrant public concern.
Authorities clarified that the sirens were activated as part of a scheduled test of the embassy’s security systems and that there is no reason for the public to be alarmed.
The brief activation prompted questions from nearby residents, but officials confirmed that the procedure was routine and conducted in accordance with established security protocols.
