Holguín arrives in Cyprus on June 6, meets leaders on June 8

María Ángela Holguín, the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General on Cyprus, is expected to arrive in Cyprus on the afternoon of 6 June.

According to reports, Holguín will hold separate meetings with the two leaders on Monday, 8 June.

Talks to focus on Cyprus issue and CBMs

Sources said discussions are expected to cover both the substance of the Cyprus issue and Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs).

Following her visit to Cyprus, Holguín is expected to travel to Greece and Turkey as part of her regional contacts.

Previous meetings held in January

Holguin last visited the island on 28 January, when she held separate and joint meetings with President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.

Those discussions focused mainly on confidence-building measures between the two sides.

Since then, the two leaders have met three times, with their latest meeting taking place on 8 May.
