Second suspect detained in Nicosia robbery investigation

Police detain 21-year-old suspect

Police have arrested a second person, aged 21, as part of an investigation into a robbery committed in Nicosia on 9 May.

According to a police statement, the arrest was made to facilitate ongoing investigations into the robbery case.

A 32-year-old man is already in custody in connection with the same case after his arrest on 13 May. The following day, the Nicosia District Court issued an eight-day detention order against him.

Suspect linked to earlier robbery

Police said evidence has also emerged linking the 32-year-old suspect to another robbery committed in Nicosia on 25 July 2025.

The suspect was re-arrested under a court warrant and questioned in writing by investigators.

In relation to the same case, another individual aged 20 was arrested yesterday and placed in custody.

The Nicosia CID continues its investigations.
