The Cyprus Eurovision 2026 representative Antigoni Buxton has completed her first rehearsal on the Eurovision stage in Vienna, describing the moment as deeply emotional and saying she “could not stop crying”.
The rehearsal took place at the Stadthalle Vienna, where this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is being staged.
Emotional reaction on stage
Representing Cyprus with the song “Jalla”, Antigoni appeared on stage in a white outfit with rhinestone details and a midriff cut-out.
In a video shared on the official Eurovision Instagram account, she said the experience overwhelmed her emotionally as she realised the moment was finally real.
“I had to stop myself from crying the whole time. I kept tearing up thinking this is actually happening,” she said, adding that she felt “blessed” and excited for the performance.
Cyprus prepares for the semi-final
The Eurovision 2026 entry of Cyprus will compete in the second semi-final on 14 May, performing in eighth position.
The first semi-final will take place on 12 May, while the grand final is scheduled for 16 May.
Artists from across Europe will compete for a place in the final, where the winner of the contest will be crowned.
