Collision inside British Bases

A 35-year-old Ukrainian man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday, April 25, on a road within the British Bases in Akrotiri.

The British Bases Police confirmed on Sunday that the victim is Olekgandr Denysenko, a permanent resident of Cyprus.

Motorcycle and car collision

According to police, the incident was reported at 13:39 on Saturday, involving a collision between a car and a motorcycle near a roadside stall selling strawberries.

The motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His passenger, a woman, was taken to Limassol General Hospital for treatment and is reported to be out of danger.

Authorities noted that both riders were wearing full protective gear at the time of the crash.

Driver questioned and released on bail

The driver of the other vehicle was initially arrested and questioned by police before being released on bail. He is expected to appear in court at a later stage.

Police also confirmed that an alcohol test returned a negative result.

Investigations into the Akrotiri fatal crash are ongoing as authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
