Possible reduction in Cyprus fuel prices
Cyprus fuel prices could see modest reductions in the coming days, particularly in 95 octane petrol, according to the Director of the Consumer Protection Service, Konstantinos Karagiorgis.
Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), he stressed that the service does not usually make forecasts on fuel price movements, as the sector is highly complex and influenced by external and geopolitical factors.
However, Karagiorgis noted that based on international Platts fuel prices, recent geopolitical developments, and previous increases recorded both in Cyprus and across Europe, there is a possibility of a slight downward adjustment in Cyprus fuel prices.
He added that reductions could occur “even today or tomorrow”, particularly in unleaded 95 petrol.
Daily monitoring of fuel market
The Consumer Protection Service continues to monitor developments on a daily basis, with the primary aim of safeguarding consumers, he said.
Karagiorgis also urged consumers to compare fuel stations, pointing out that significant price differences are observed across petrol stations in Cyprus.
The fuel prices market in Cyprus remains sensitive to global energy fluctuations and external pressures.
