Government Printing Office workers go on strike

Date:

Indefinite strike by hourly staff

Hourly-paid staff at the Government Printing Office have launched an indefinite strike, according to an announcement by SEK, citing an uncompromising stance from the employer side over the issue of salary scale upgrades.

Workers demand fair pay

According to the trade union organisation, the workers’ demand concerns securing decent wages, noting that so far there has been no response from the employer for a meaningful examination of the issue.

Protest planned in Strovolos

As part of the mobilisations, a protest gathering was scheduled for today at 10:30 in the morning outside the Government Printing Office in Strovolos.
