Island ranks 12th among top global destinations

Cyprus continues to gain momentum as a travel destination, currently ranked 12th among the world’s top destinations. The island has seen growing interest as more holidaymakers book trips.

Impact of earlier cancellations

According to data from US company AirDNA, daily cancellation rates for short-term rentals in Cyprus surged from around 15% before recent regional conflicts to 100% in the days immediately after. The figure has since fallen but remained near 45% until 21 March. Greece experienced a smaller increase in cancellations.

Tourist arrivals and trends

In 2025, Cyprus welcomed four million tourists, with the sector heavily reliant on visitors from the United Kingdom. British travellers account for roughly one-third of all arrivals, highlighting the importance of the UK market to the island’s tourism recovery.
