Tehran airstrike targets Kharazi family home

Former Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi suffered serious injuries, and his wife was killed, when an airstrike hit their home in Tehran, according to Iranian media outlets. Newspapers, including Shargh, Etemad, and Ham Mihan, reported that the attack occurred on Wednesday.

Kharazi’s political background

Kharazi served as Iran’s Foreign Minister from 1997 to 2005 during President Mohammad Khatami’s administration. He later acted as an advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Reports indicate that he was hospitalised in critical condition following the strike, which coincided with the first day of U.S.-Israeli military operations targeting Iran.
