The Houthis enter the war: “We fired ballistic missiles at israel”

Date:

The war in the Middle East has entered its second month with no sign of de-escalation, as Israel and Iran continue to exchange airstrikes and missile attacks, while the United States insists its objectives will be achieved within two weeks.

On the ground, the Israeli military announced that a missile was launched from Yemen for the first time, heightening concerns about a Red Sea front that could worsen the global oil crisis.

“We carried out our first military operation using ballistic missiles against sensitive Israeli military targets,” the Houthis said in a statement on Saturday morning.

The same statement added that “operations will continue until the declared objectives are achieved.”

The Houthis said the attack on Israel was in response to ongoing strikes on infrastructure in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, and the Palestinian territories.

In another development, the Bushehr nuclear power plant was struck for a third time, while U.S.-Israeli raids in western Iran killed at least 20 people, according to Iranian media.

Iran struck Israel, where one additional fatality was reported.

Meanwhile, an Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia left at least 12 U.S. soldiers injured and caused damage to refueling aircraft.

For his part, the U.S. President said the war “is not over yet,” noting that the United States still has “another 3,554” targets to strike.
