Police seize drugs during home search

Authorities arrested a 40-year-old man from Limassol last night in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal drug possession. Around 6:45 p.m., members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (ΥΚΑΝ) executed a court-authorised search at the suspect’s residence.

The man refused to open the door, and police observed him attempting to flee through an open window. Officers forced entry and found him in the bathroom with approximately 4 grams of cannabis inside the toilet.

Additional drugs and paraphernalia found

During the search, police discovered another 6 grams of cannabis, a small quantity of a white substance resembling cocaine, and an electronic precision scale with traces of both drugs.

Further investigation led officers to a neighbouring property belonging to a relative of the suspect, where they found approximately 44 grams of cocaine. The suspect claimed ownership of the seized cocaine.

The 40-year-old remains in custody as authorities continue their inquiries.
