Drunk driving incident in Limassol leads to arrest of 56-year-old

Date:

Collision with multiple vehicles

A 56-year-old man was arrested last night in Limassol for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a traffic collision. Around 10 p.m., while driving, he collided with a parked car and continued, hitting three more parked vehicles, causing property damage but no injuries.

Police intervention and alcohol test

The last collision caused one of the parked cars to move and hit another vehicle nearby, after which the man’s car came to a stop. Limassol Traffic Police arrived at the scene and found the driver inside his vehicle.

A preliminary breath test showed 112 μg of alcohol, exceeding the legal limit of 22 μg. He was subsequently taken to the Limassol Traffic Police offices for a final test, where he failed to provide a sufficient sample, resulting in his arrest.

The man has been taken into custody, and Limassol Traffic Police continue to investigate the incident.
