Police uncover weapons during patrol

Members of the Limassol Police on Tuesday discovered a pistol and explosive materials in an open area between the communities of Alassa and Lania. The find occurred following a tip-off and routine patrol in the region.

Details of the discovery

Authorities located a pistol without a magazine and five pieces of explosive material weighing a total of 670 grams. The scene was immediately examined by a bomb disposal expert from the Limassol Police Department, along with members of the Limassol CID.

Investigation ongoing

The recovered items were seized for specialised forensic examination. The Limassol CID is continuing its investigation to determine the origin and intended use of the weapons and explosives.
