Sirens sounded at the Akrotiri Bases on Monday morning, triggering a nine-minute alert that began around 10:20. Personnel and local residents were advised to remain indoors and take cover behind sturdy furniture, staying away from windows.

Alongside the sirens, messages were sent to both personnel and residents informing them of an ongoing threat and instructing precautionary measures.

A few minutes later, the sirens stopped, and a follow-up message from the British Bases confirmed the end of the alert, signalling that the immediate threat had passed.
