Drone flights banned by Transport Minister’s decree

All drone flights over Cyprus territory and territorial waters are prohibited until further notice, following a decree issued by the Minister of Transport.

Details of the decree

The Civil Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced that, due to current security conditions, the Minister has signed a decree banning all civilian unmanned aircraft (drones) over Cypriot land and waters for any purpose.

Immediate enforcement

The decree takes effect immediately and will remain in force until a new announcement is issued.

Authorities urge the public to fully comply with the provisions of the decree to avoid legal penalties and ensure safety.
