Netcompany leads Heathrow airport digital upgrade

Date:

Heathrow, the busiest airport in Europe and a key global aviation hub, has chosen Netcompany as its main partner to modernise its digital operations. The project aims to enhance the experience of over 80 million passengers who visit the airport annually.

AIRHART platform to drive smarter operations

For the digital upgrade, Netcompany will deploy AIRHART, a platform already in use at leading European airports. AIRHART integrates all operational systems and airport data into a single, real-time platform. This enables improved situational awareness, AI-supported decision-making, and streamlined processes, ensuring Heathrow operates efficiently and reliably.

Netcompany highlights transformational potential

“We are proud to transform Heathrow’s digital ecosystem. As the busiest airport in Europe and a cornerstone of UK critical infrastructure, Heathrow needs a partner and platform built for resilience, security, and growth,” said André Rogaczewski, CEO and co-founder of Netcompany. “Our platform uses predictive AI to enhance operations today while unlocking new opportunities for tomorrow. It can transform how major airports operate, placing Heathrow at the forefront of digital airport excellence.”

Heathrow emphasises technology’s critical role

Javier Echave, Chief Operating Officer at Heathrow, added: “As one of the world’s busiest airports and the UK’s only hub, the technology supporting our operations must stand the test of time. AIRHART will provide a flexible, integrated platform for coordinating critical processes, allowing us to maintain high service levels for passengers and clients in the years ahead.”

Netcompany extends regional expertise

Christos Kontellis, Country Managing Partner at Netcompany SEE, stated: “Following similar projects with Munich and Copenhagen airports, Netcompany and AIRHART are gaining a strong lead in digital airport upgrades through Airport Operations Orchestration Platforms (AOOPs). We look forward to bringing this solution to airports across Southeastern Europe, where our expertise ensures excellent results.”

AIRHART enhances key operational functions

The AIRHART platform supports several critical Heathrow operations, including:

  • Airport Operational Database: Replacing existing systems with a next-generation database.
  • Airport Collaborative Decision Making: Strengthening collaboration and situational awareness.
  • Airport Operations Plan: Allowing predictive and optimised operational planning in line with European and international standards.
