Car catches fire near Larnaca Airport, driver unharmed

A private vehicle caught fire while in motion near Larnaca Airport on Monday afternoon, with the driver escaping unharmed.

Emergency response

Two fire engines from the Larnaca Sub-Inspector Andreas Papadopoulos Fire Station responded to the Larnaca car fire, according to the Fire Service.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control at 1:13pm.

The driver noticed the fire, stopped the vehicle and exited safely without placing himself in danger.

Photos from the scene of the Larnaca car fire were later published on the CY Police Checkpoints Facebook page.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
