Dramatic arrest of 40-year-old – Fled, crashed into police car

Around 2:30 pm on Thursday, Limassol police conducting a patrol signalled a driver to stop for a routine check. The driver failed to comply and continued driving recklessly, eventually colliding with a police vehicle before coming to a halt.

Items recovered

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered several watches, various jewellery items, car keys, a knife, two bats, and a small quantity of cannabis.

Arrest and ongoing investigation

The 40-year-old driver was arrested for the immediate offence of illegal possession of property. A preliminary drug test returned a positive result.

Police examinations continue, with Limassol Traffic Department, the Central Police Station, and the Limassol Drugs Squad (ΥΚΑΝ) involved in the investigation.
