Demonstration against EU-Mercosur deal
Farmers, trade unions, and civic organisations in Cyprus are calling on citizens, especially farmers, to attend a protest against the EU–Mercosur trade agreement. The demonstration is scheduled for this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. outside the House of Europe in Nicosia.
Petition to European Commission
Organisers announced that, following approval of a resolution addressed to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, it will be submitted to a representative of the EU’s permanent delegation in Cyprus.
Broad support from organisations
The protest has backing from a wide range of organisations, including EKA, Panagrotikos, NEDHPA, TERRA CYPRIA, PEO, Socialist Women’s Movement, Consumers, PEK, Euroagricultural, ACCEPT LGBTI CYPRUS, POGO, NAK, KOSP, ESEM, Progressive Party, EDON, POA, Ecologist Movement, NEDIK/ANAGENNISI, and LAONA.
