The European Union has issued a warning about the risk of serious destabilisation in the Middle East, citing rising tensions involving Iran. EU officials stressed the importance of dialogue and constructive engagement to prevent escalation.

Regional security concerns

According to the EU statement, the recent developments in Iran and the surrounding region could threaten regional security and economic stability. Officials called for measured responses from all parties to avoid exacerbating existing conflicts.

The statement highlighted the need for diplomatic channels to remain open and for international actors to support conflict resolution initiatives.

EU commitment to peace and stability

The EU reaffirmed its commitment to upholding international law and supporting efforts that promote peace and stability in the Middle East. It stressed that any unilateral actions that heighten tensions would have serious consequences for the region and beyond.

EU representatives also urged Iran to engage constructively with the international community, warning that ongoing provocations could further isolate the country diplomatically and economically.
