Police work hours dispute awaits court decision

Date:

The Administrative Court reserved its decision on the interim request filed by the Police Branch of the Isotita Union, seeking a temporary suspension of the Police Chief’s decision to reduce officers’ work hours.

Court hearing concludes

Nikos Loizidis, President of the Police Branch of the Isotita Union, told CNA that the court has not set a timeline for announcing its decision.

He explained that today’s hearing addressed the interim request linked to the filed appeal. The court’s ruling will determine whether the Police Chief’s decision will be paused until the full case is heard.

Next steps in the legal process

Following the interim decision, the court will continue with the main case hearing. Loizidis clarified that the interim ruling could either freeze the Police Chief’s decision until the full case concludes or allow it to proceed.
