Jewellery heist in Ayia Napa exceeds €1m in under 3 minutes

Date:

Burglars strike in early hours

Three burglars needed only 2 minutes and 40 seconds to break into a jewellery store in Ayia Napa and steal gold and diamonds valued at one million euros.

The alarm sounded around 4am, prompting the store manager to alert the Police and file a report.

Masked raiders smash entry

According to Police spokesperson Marina Christodoulidou, “the perpetrators, who had their faces covered with balaclavas, lifted the security shutters, smashed the glass display case, entered the store, and stole a number of pieces of jewellery.”

This Ayia Napa jewellery heist highlights vulnerabilities in high-value retail security despite protective measures.

Police probe CCTV evidence

Authorities are evaluating evidence and footage from closed-circuit television to identify the suspects in the Ayia Napa jewellery heist.
