Cyprus police night operations target serious crime

Date:

Cyprus Police continued dynamic, targeted preventive operations throughout last night with reinforced presence at key urban points.

These aimed to prevent serious criminal acts, protect citizens, and maintain public order. In total, three persons faced arrest across Cyprus as part of these efforts.

Larnaca attempted murder suspect

In Larnaca province, one individual received arrest for offences including attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm, and illegal stay.

Limassol province saw one arrest for driving without a licence, careless driving, and causing a road collision. In Famagusta province, one person faced arrest for drink-driving (103μg versus 22μg limit), with immediate court filing today.

Traffic enforcement and venue checks

Extensive checks occurred at numerous premises overnight to deter and suppress deviant behaviours promptly. On roadways, over 360 checks yielded more than 120 traffic complaints. Nine vehicles got impounded during traffic offence investigations.

These Cyprus police operations form part of a broad, ongoing, intensified preventive plan. Enhanced police visibility, targeted inspections, and swift action span all provinces to prevent crime and boost public safety feelings.
