Cyprus police night operations, targeted preventive patrols

Cyprus Police continued dynamic preventive operations overnight with enhanced presence at key urban spots. These aim to deter serious crimes, protect citizens and maintain public order.

Six persons were arrested island-wide. In Paphos, two faced charges for demanding money by threats and drug possession.

Arrests in Limassol

Cyprus police Limassol operations saw an 18-year-old female driver and 18-year-old male passenger arrested on a motorcycle lacking registration plates, reported stolen on 27 December 2025.

Two others held for missing court and driving under drug influence.

Checks and traffic enforcement

Thirty premises received inspections to curb violations early. Over 370 road checks produced more than 120 traffic complaints, 46 for speeding. Four vehicles seized in traffic probes.

These form part of a broad, ongoing police prevention plan boosting visibility, targeted checks and swift action across provinces to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
