3.7 quake hits NW of Polis Chrysochous

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred in a marine area northwest of Polis Chrysochous in the early hours of Tuesday, 13 January 2026, according to the Geological Survey Department.

The tremor was recorded by the Department’s seismological network at 03:28 local time.

It was lightly felt in the Paphos district.

The epicentre lies 80 kilometres northwest of Polis Chrysochous, with a focal depth of 25 kilometres.
