48-year-old woman in 4-day detention for home theft in Paphos

Date:

The Paphos District Court issued a four-day detention order on Thursday against a 48-year-old woman to facilitate investigations into a suspected home theft case.

According to Assistant Police Operations Director of Paphos, Michalis Nikolaou, a 32-year-old man and his 31-year-old wife filed a complaint with the Paphos Crime Investigation Department (CID) on November 20. The couple had periodically employed the 48-year-old as a house cleaner.

Mr. Nikolaou told CNA that the couple had noticed the disappearance of various small items from their home in recent weeks. On Wednesday, November 20, they discovered that €6,000, which included business receipts, had been stolen from the husband’s bag.

The couple raised suspicions against the 48-year-old, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM and was placed under four-day detention today.

Investigations are ongoing by the Paphos CID.
