Developments in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean were the focus of discussions in Serbia between the Chief of the National Guard of Cyprus, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, and the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.
According to an announcement by the Cyprus National Guard General Staff (GEEF), the visit took place from November 18 to 20, at the invitation of the Serbian Chief of Armed Forces.
On November 18, an official welcome was held at the General Staff Headquarters of the Serbian Armed Forces, followed by private meetings between the two chiefs. Discussions centered on developments affecting security and stability in both the Balkan region and the broader Eastern Mediterranean area.
They also exchanged views on the Bilateral Defense Cooperation Program, expressing a shared commitment to further strengthening their cooperation.
During the visit, the Chief of the National Guard also met with Serbian Deputy Defense Minister Mile Jelić. The two exchanged views on topics of mutual interest and reaffirmed the ever-growing relationship between the armed forces of the two countries.
While in Serbia, the Cypriot delegation visited the military airport “Colonel Milenko Pavlović,” the Special Operations Brigade, and the facilities of the state-owned enterprise “Jugoimport SDPR.”
The GEEF announcement noted that the visit forms part of the broader network of international collaborations developed by the National Guard to strengthen ties with allied countries, address shared challenges, and promote security through multilateral and multifaceted initiatives.
