Sykas partner officially withdraws complaint

Date:

Nikos Sykas’ partner formally withdrew her domestic violence complaint against the DISY MP. She submitted a letter to authorities stating she holds no grievance against him.

Law Office proceeds anyway

Law Office advanced immunity waiver request to Supreme Court regardless of withdrawal. Attorney General’s office posted application filed Wednesday with hearing scheduled January 13 at 11:00 a.m.

DISY political developments

DISY meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. to ratify Executive Bureau’s Monday decision excluding Sykas from party ballot. Party expulsion also reportedly considered.

DISY President Annita Demetriou had publicly urged Sykas’ voluntary immunity waiver. Limassol TAE Violence Unit gathered extensive witness testimonies including Greek judicial assistance for Athens incident.

Immunity process continues

Legislation mandates Supreme Court immunity lift before MP interrogation regardless of complaint status. Sykas categorically denied allegations expressing readiness to testify presenting “true facts.”

Legal experts note faster process absent Sykas objection. Investigation examined assault causing actual bodily harm plus psychological violence charges from alleged Athens nightclub incident.
