Two arrested for church theft in Larnaca

Police arrested two men, aged 38 and 63, to facilitate investigations into a Larnaca church burglary and theft case.

On January 3 around 11:20 a.m., officers stopped a suspiciously moving vehicle in Larnaca. The 38-year-old drove while carrying various church vessels and an iron cutter.

Stolen church items confirmed

Examination confirmed the church vessels stolen from a building within a Larnaca church compound between January 1-3, 2026.

The 38-year-old appeared before Larnaca District Court, which issued a four-day detention order. The 63-year-old, arrested yesterday by court warrant, received a two-day detention order today.

Larnaca Police Department investigates the case.
