Crans-Montana: Alice Kallergis body identified

Swiss authorities officially identified the body of 15-year-old Alice Kallergis, a Greek-Swiss dual citizen, late Sunday among the 40 victims of the deadly New Year’s Eve fire at a bar in Crans-Montana ski resort.

The blaze claimed 40 lives, including 20 minors, and injured dozens more aged 14 to 39.

Father’s heartbreaking confirmation

Alice’s father, Antonis Kallergis, shared the tragic news on social media with an image of an angel named “Alice” against a black background. Her brother posted a video of childhood memories.

The Greek Foreign Ministry confirmed the identification via Swiss officials to the Greek Embassy in Bern and Consulate in Geneva.

Repatriation of Italian victims

A C130 aircraft will land Monday at Milan’s Linate Airport carrying the bodies of five Italians killed in the fire. Milan Mayor and Emilia-Romagna Governor will receive them before transport to hometowns like Milan, Bologna, and Genoa.

Victim breakdown released

Police in Valais Canton identified all 40 victims: 21 Swiss (11 females, 10 males), 9 French (including one Franco-Swiss), 6 Italians (one Italy-UAE dual), 1 Belgian, 1 Portuguese, 1 Romanian, 1 Turkish, and 1 with French-Israeli-British citizenship.

Detailed ages include:

  • Swiss females: one 14, four 15, one 16, one 18, one 21, two 22, one 24.
  • Swiss males: three 16, one 17, three 18, one 20, one 21, one 31.
  • French: females 26, 33; Franco-Swiss 24; triple-citizen 15; males 14, 17, 20, 23, 39.
  • Italians: females 15, 16; males three 16, one 16 Italy-UAE.
  • Others: Belgian 17 female, Portuguese 22 female, Romanian 18 male, Turkish 18 male.

Additionally, 119 people were injured, with 113 identified so far.
