Fire Service on high alert in Paphos district due to severe weather

Paphos Fire Service responded to four weather-related calls early Wednesday from civilians and authorities. At 03:58, crews cleared a fallen tree blocking a road in Polemidia community. No injuries reported.

At 06:33 in Geroskipou, a fallen EAC power pole crushed a vehicle; firefighters coordinated with EAC teams for safe removal and area securing.

Flooding and debris clearance

At 07:18 in Kisssonerga, teams removed dangerous wind-blown corrugated sheets threatening passersby. By 07:29 inside Paphos city, they opened drains on a flooded road to restore water flow.

Service stays on heightened readiness, urging public caution and authority guidance.

Highway hazards reported

Police noted soil slips on the Limassol-Paphos highway between Paramali and Sotira, plus water pooling. Drivers advised low speeds and safe distances.
