Teachers escalate reaction with Thursday work strike

Date:

Teachers are escalating their reaction over the handling of the issue, announcing a two-hour work strike on Thursday, December 18.

The action will take place from 07:30 to 09:00, coinciding with the same day and time as a work strike announced by primary teachers’ union POED.

The decision was taken following a meeting of the Central Administrative Council of OELMEK, which lasted approximately two and a half hours.

Pan-Cypriot conference to follow

After the work stoppage, a Pan-Cypriot Conference of General Representatives will be held, aimed at assessing the situation and determining the next steps.

The move signals a further escalation in teachers’ response, as unions continue to express dissatisfaction with how the matter is being managed.
